This man reminded me of the late Ed van der Elsken. “I worked with him”, he told me. He is a retired wedding photographer.



I caught him near the subway station. He hopes to graduate this year and study international business management afterwards. “I have to catch my train now, sorry.” He shook my hand and then hurried to his train.


He is a hairdresser with a strictly-for-men policy: no women allowed in his barbershop. “Oh yes, we received a lot of attention”, he told me. That probably explains his confidence in front of the camera.
